Americans still support Keystone XL pipeline construction, poll says
September 17, 2015
A poll of American voters for the American Petroleum Institute published Thursday shows the majority of Americans support the construction of TransCanada Corp.'s Keystone XL pipeline.
Harris Poll contacted 907 registered voters for API, the largest oil industry association in the U.S., and found that 68 per cent of respondents supported building Keystone XL. That's down from 70 per cent in a similar poll in April 2014 and from 69 per cent in February 2013.
In the latest poll a higher number, 78 per cent, agreed with the statement that Keystone XL would strengthen economic security in the U.S.
